Trakka, a renowned Australian campervan manufacturer, has unveiled its latest innovation: the 48V Trakkadu.
This new model is designed to elevate off-grid camping experiences, offering advanced features tailored for modern adventurers.

The 48V Trakkadu is built on the latest Volkswagen Transporter T7 and Ford Transit Custom vans, providing a versatile foundation for the campervan. A standout feature is its robust 48V off-grid battery system, which includes a 2.05kWh lithium battery pack capable of delivering 4000W of continuous 240V output. This substantial power capacity allows users to operate dual induction cooktops and an optional 48V air-conditioner simultaneously, ensuring comfort and convenience during off-grid travels.

To support extended off-grid capabilities, the Trakkadu comes equipped with a 390W rooftop solar panel system. This setup ensures a steady recharge of the battery pack, reducing reliance on external power sources and enhancing the campervan's self-sufficiency.

Another notable enhancement is the powered pop-top roof, which can be operated via an internal switch or remote control. This feature simplifies the setup process, allowing users to raise or lower the roof in approximately 20 seconds. The design also provides increased headroom, enhancing the overall comfort within the campervan.

Inside, the Trakkadu offers a thoughtfully designed living space. The slightly wider Transporter T7 body accommodates a three-seat passenger bench in the rear, which can slide forwards and backwards thanks to Trakka's 'Smart floor' system. This flexibility allows for various seating and sleeping configurations, catering to different user needs. Additionally, the rear seats can be quickly converted into a flat double bed, with an optional roof bed available for families.

Standard features include front swivel seats, a removable dinette table, dimmable LED lighting, lightweight foam core cabinetry, and a 60L fresh water tank with a water filter, complemented by a 30L grey water tank. These amenities ensure a comfortable and functional living environment for extended trips.

For those seeking additional features, Trakka offers options such as a portable toilet, Starlink connectivity, a bladeless fan, a diesel heater, and a twin sliding door layout, allowing for awnings and access on both sides of the campervan. To enhance off-road capabilities, buyers can opt for Seikel suspension and other off-road kits, including front bars and underbody protection.

The 48V Trakkadu is priced starting at $161,000 for the Transporter 4Motion AWD base model. With additional options, the price can reach up to $188,130. The Ford Transit Custom Trail AWD variant starts at $148,400, offering a slightly more affordable option without compromising on essential features.

Trakka's introduction of the 48V Trakkadu marks a significant advancement in the Australian campervan market, combining innovative technology with practical design to meet the evolving needs of modern travellers.
